A Note From
The Executive Director

Well Three Oaks has been referred to as the "artsy haven in the middle of nowhere Michigan" and some say that because of its "nowhere-ness," Three Oaks is like visiting an island... I think of it as a cross-section between Mayberry, Martha's Vineyard, Northern Exposure and perhaps Sundance.

Anyway, Three Oaks is a town where an array of interesting people comes and goes, and the long-time locals take pride in their history, but the fact is that new chapters are written every day. This is the Wavelength chapter where the folks who built a local community radio station decided to create a music fest... you'll see why! We have this really cool park, Dewey Cannon Park, that just beckons a day of play on a Midwestern  summer day... shaded by trees,  located in four blocks of a very walkable funky downtown, and the people pause to wave as the train goes by... sounds kind of weird but you'll know what I mean when you get here.

The station, Radio Harbor Country, has been on the air for over five years now. We're a non-profit so we always have funding in mind, but a music festival??? We've talked about it for awhile now and selfishly so, we wanted to do something we'd enjoy. Plus we have an amazing stable of talented folks at WRHC to draw on.

The cast of characters that host shows on WRHC 106.7FM are diverse in their interests and in their experience -the one thing they have in common is the passion for what they're bringing to the community. We have talk radio shows that range from extremely conservative to very liberal, and music shows that border on corny to traditional to experimental to "maybe from another planet" but we do believe there are folks that are out there listening! We have poetry and literary shows and even one by elementary school kids who read everything from their homework to this week's lunch menu! In a nutshell, we have something extraordinary and unique here... please join us in keeping a good thing going. Wavelength promises to be a very fine day... we are loving the line-up and think you will too! Please purchase your ticket soon!

See you in Three Oaks!
